The idea that “we are borrowing our environment from our grandchildren” influences every decision that is made concerning the development of Montwell Commons.  These are some of the projects that reflect that idea:

• Extensive insulation on all new construction projects

• Parking lots and driveways constructed with permeable pavers

• Minimizing light pollution by utilizing 100 watt full cutoff LED street lights that are dark sky friendly

• Recycling waste cardboard by our Partners

• Composting vegetable scraps and eggshells from our Partners

• Landscaping with native plants and selecting species favored by pollinators

• Collecting rainwater for watering the Demonstration Garden

• Providing electric vehicle charging stations
